A great holiday always involves plenty of food and drink. Well, it does for us anyway! Whether it’s a healthy breakfast to fuel your day’s activities or an evening meal under the stars, eating on holiday should be a time to kick back, relax and enjoy ourselves around the table. And above all, it should be delicious.
If you’re wondering exactly what to expect when it comes to food and drink on your Neilson holiday, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve got the lowdown on the meal plans you can look forward to at both our Beach Clubs and ski accommodation. Hope you’re hungry!
Our Beach Clubs
Of our 7 Beach Clubs, we offer a club board meal plan at 6 of them. That includes breakfast and lunch every day and 4 inclusive evening meals a week.
On non-inclusive evenings, you can visit a local restaurant or order à la carte at your Beach Club. We serve a tasty selection of bar meals and snacks, including pizzas, burgers and salads and we’ll simply bill it to your room. Or join us at our weekly BBQ for a selection of sizzling meats and seafood straight from the grill.
There’s one Beach Club that does things a little differently. Our Cosmos Beach Club in Greece is bed and breakfast only, giving you the freedom to explore the local tavernas every evening. Lefkas Town is right on your doorstep with its marina lined with seafood eateries and lively family-run restaurants.
The menus at each of our Beach Clubs vary to reflect the unique cuisine of the region and make use of the freshest local ingredients. But here’s a taster of some of the delicious food and drink you can expect.
How about lunch and dinner?
Lunch and evening meals are also served buffet-style with options to suit all diets.
We love a fresh salad on a hot day, so we think variety is key here with our bowls of individual salad ingredients and mixed salads with vegan, vegetarian and meat choices.
If you’re in the mood for something more substantial, you’ll find freshly cooked pasta with a choice of sauces, grilled meats and fish, rice dishes, chips, jacket potatoes, stews, pies and stuffed vegetables – to name just a few! And there’s always a vegan and a vegetarian main dish, along with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.
Don’t forget to save some room for the tempting dessert selection. Profiteroles, crème brulee, trifle, cakes and ice cream are all among our favourites on offer.
Tea, coffee, orange juice (at breakfast) and water are the only inclusive drinks on your meal plan. But feel free to order any other drinks from our waiters and they will be charged to your room. We serve a wide choice of drinks from freshly squeezed juices to beers, wines and cocktails.
Are meals child-friendly?
As you can see from our buffet menus, we serve a great choice of popular dishes that allow you to adapt meals to your little ones’ tastes.
We also put on daily high tea for children under the age of 5. We hold it at the earlier time of 5 pm and serve up all the crowd-pleasing kiddie classics, such as sandwiches, chips, meatballs, cheesy pasta, pizza, fruit and yoghurts. There are even purees for our youngest guests. They can come as part of the kids’ club or you’re welcome to bring them along yourselves.
Our ski chalets & chalet hotels
Skiers and snowboarders need lots of food to keep them going on the slopes all day. But we know most guests in our chalet hotels would like to eat lunch on the mountain, so our chalet board meal plan includes breakfast and afternoon tea every day, as well as an evening meal 6 days a week prepared by your very own Neilson hosts. On your non-inclusive meal, you can head out and sample the restaurants in your resort.
What's on the breakfast menu?
Stay warm on the pistes with a good breakfast. You can choose both cooked and continental options, covering everything from bacon, eggs and hash browns to croissants, cereal and fresh fruit.
How about when I return from the slopes?
Nothing works up an appetite like a day in the mountains, so to tide you over until your evening meal, an afternoon tea of freshly baked cakes, biscuits, juice, tea or coffee will be waiting for you when you come in from the slopes.
Follow that up with a hearty 3-course evening meal, inspired by the regional cuisine.
You’ll be treated to complimentary wine throughout the starter and the main course, followed by coffees at the end of your meal.
Our ski hotels
If you choose a holiday in one of our Neilson Mountain Collection ski hotels, you’ll be staying on a half board basis. That means you get your breakfast, afternoon tea and evening meal 7 days a week. Our Mountain Collection hotels are exclusive to Neilson guests.
What's on the menu?
Neilson breakfasts are an extensive affair with a delicious choice of continental and cooked options. Whether you like to fuel up for the slopes with a hot plate of bacon and eggs or keep things light with muesli and yoghurt, we’ve got you covered.
After a long day of skiing or boarding, nothing beats returning to cake or biscuits fresh from the oven and a lovely warm drink to thaw out chilly fingers.
After a shower, a rest and maybe an après-ski drink or two, it’s on to your evening meal where you can fill up on a delicious evening meal.
Unlike in our chalet hotels, wine is not included with your evening meal but you can order beers, wines, hot drinks and cocktails from the bar to be charged to your room.
Hopefully, that’s got your mouth watering for your next Neilson holiday!
