If you're interested in a flotilla holiday but don't have sailing experience, don't worry! Our skippered flotilla holidays are perfect for you. You'll feel right at home on your yacht in no time and have a blast sailing and exploring.
Our flotilla departs from Vounaki Beach Club in Greece, and we'll provide you with an RYA-qualified skipper to take charge of the yacht and guide you to some of the best swim stops and picturesque harbours in the Ionian. You'll be sailing alongside other Neilson yachts in the flotilla.
You can choose to participate in the sailing and help crew the yacht, or simply relax and enjoy the sun and scenery. Our experienced skipper has insider knowledge of the local area, so you can trust that you're in good hands.
The Skippered flotilla is priced at £1295 per yacht, per week and is in addition to the per-person holiday cost.
Your flotilla route
This flotilla route will give you a flavour of what to expect from your week on the flotilla, it's an example, is not fixed and may vary from that listed below (nm = nautical miles).
Your week on flotilla
Once you arrive at your Beach Club we’ll meet you down at the yacht pontoon and your skipper will show you around your home for the next week, your very own yacht. You’re then free to choose your cabin and settle in for your first night on board.
The following morning your skipper will join you on deck, before you know it you’ll be leaving your moorings behind and setting sail in the south Ionian. This is when the fun really begins!
Your skipper will be with you all day, teaching you the finer points of sailing but will leave your yacht in the evening to join the lead boat. That way you can enjoy some downtime with friends and family.
Arrival and departure
Your flotilla boats will be ready from five pm on your arrival day. Once settled on board, the Neilson crew will give an individual boat briefing. If you arrive after 7.30pm the crew will give a short briefing on essentials such as lights, loos and gas with a full briefing the following morning.
The main flotilla briefing for all yachts is the following morning at 9.30 or 10am and boats are free to depart at any time after the briefing is over. All boats will need to be back at the Neilson base before 6pm on the final sailing day, and vacated by 9.30am on the day of departure.
A few extras
Our sailing holidays include damage waiver, marine insurance and fuel, plus we don't ask for a security deposit. There are a few bits we don't include in your holiday, such as mooring fees. If you do need to pay it's usually just a few Euros per night.
The Skippered flotilla is priced at £1295 per yacht, per week and is in addition to the per-person holiday cost.
