At the northern end of the 400km Milky Way ski area in Italy, perched on a sunny plateau, sits the vibrant mountain town of Sauze d'Oulx. It's a magnet for those looking to make the most of their time both on and off the mountain. Intermediate and advanced skiers and boarders love it in particular thanks to the 212 runs.
During the day, the resort is like any other - quaint with a slightly eternal Christmassy feel. It's at night when the resort really comes alive. There's a huge number of bars and restaurants suiting all tastes, with everything from lively aperitivo bars with live music to cosy Italian mountain bars - where you'll bump into the true locals.
'Sunny Sauze', as it’s come to be known, is particularly popular amongst the Brits, as it's just as big on great value nightlife as it is on skiing. It’s a buzzing town that’s made even better by the legendary skiing and boarding on offer. Come for the mountain, and stay for the nightlife!

Off the mountain
This is up there as one of the best après towns in the Italian Alps. What's your vibe? Cosy after dinner drinks with live music, chilling in one of the elegant mountain bars with superb wine and dining that won't break the bank, or perhaps step it up a notch with a night of livelier DJ sets.
Après-ski is varied in Sauze! For something a bit different, head to the old town section of the area, which is full of character and will offer a nice change of pace. It's much quieter and more laid back, with some exceptionally beautiful restaurants and as the area is renowned for its local wine, time to treat yourself to a glass (or two).
