As one of the highest ski resorts in Italy, Sestrière has it all - excellent snow conditions, a laid-back feel, 400km of beautifully pisted runs and an up and coming aprés scene. It's a cosmopolitan sort of place, boasting genuine Italian hospitality and of course, the skiing is fabulous!
The resort sits at 2035m and is situated just above the treeline. Its neighbouring resort, Sauze d'Oulx, has a more lively atmosphere, which makes the relaxing vibes at Sestrière seem even more relaxed in comparison. This is the place where you can ski or board until your legs can't take anymore, then soak up the sun and have a few aperitivos.
It’s mostly about the mountain here, however there’s some excellent boutique shopping which proves to be very popular, or see the resort from a dog's point of view on a dog sled trip.
After the slopes close there are some stylish bars to while away the hours in with a few drinks and a lively atmosphere. Or why not try Tabata; one of the most famous clubs in the Alps (very popular on a Wednesday night).

On the mountain
Right in the midst of the 400km Milky Way ski area, this place is heaven for good skiers and snowboarders. Beginners have a huge area near the village to improve their skills. Intermediates should head straight to Borgatta and up to the Motta for their own challenging runs.
Advanced skiers will have access to some of the world championship runs, including the Olympic black run which you can see from resort. The snow record here means you nearly always have perfect conditions and there’s no shortage of runs to keep everyone busy (and happy).
