About the resort
Penia di Canazei is a picturesque and traditional village nestled in the stunning Val di Fassa. If you're looking for a tranquil base to explore the incredible 1220km of snowsure Dolomiti pistes and Marmolada Glacier, this is it. Access to the renowned 40km Sella Ronda circuit is easy thanks to the Alba-Col dei Rossi gondola just down the road.
Evenings are laid-back in Penia itself but the Dolomites Inn is a lovely place to spend quality time with family and friends. That's not to say you don't have options as there are plenty. Neighbouring Alba has a good selection of bars to visit straight off the slopes.
Beyond that, Canazei has some great shopping plus a wide range of bars and restaurants to sample the extraordinarily good local cuisine. There's even a nightclub for the night owls. Taxis run right up until 4am so there's no chance of getting stranded.
Being surrounded by the towering snow-capped peaks of Belvedere Mountain and the Marmolada glacier makes for some jaw-dropping scenery. It's definitely worth trying activities like snowshoeing or cross-country skiing to discover hidden parts of the area.
