Our Beach Clubs have a great choice of inclusive activities for you dip in and out of. But what if there’s a particular sport you love or have always wanted to try? Whilst our Beach Clubs offer a wide range of options, some are better suited to indulging your passion than others.
Whether it's cycling, windsurfing or tennis, if you want to spend your holiday focusing on your favourite sport, you’ll need to know which Beach Club does it best. Luckily, we’ve got the lowdown right here,
Best for road cycling
The freedom of the open road, the amazing views after a hard climb, the sunshine on your back – what better way to spend your holiday? You can head out for a pedal at our Cosmos, Vounaki, Messini and Buca Beach Clubs, but there’s also a couple of favourites that are a dream for roadies:
- Levante Beach Club, Greece – The sun-drenched coastline of Rhodes in Greece is one of our most popular road cycling destinations. And with a huge network of smooth roads, winding switchbacks and dramatic mountain scenery, it’s no wonder.
- Baia dei Mori Beach Club, Sardinia – This beautiful Italian island is famous for its road cycling. Enjoy smooth roads and an unbelievable variety of landscapes from mountain top castellos to sweeping coastlines.
Expert guiding is an inclusive activity at both of these Beach Clubs, so let someone else do the navigating and simply soak in the best routes around.
Best for mountain biking
Get the adrenaline pumping with some rugged off-road adventures. You can get stuck into some mountain biking at all of our Beach Clubs, but if you’re a keen MTBer, we recommend these beauties:
- Levante Beach Club, Greece – Beautiful coastal routes, quiet rural roads, rocky paths and dry riverbeds, fruit orchards, olive groves, sleepy villages, craggy mountain ranges and swathes of Cypress and Pine trees mean there is plenty of epic riding to be had.
- Messini Beach Club, Greece – Without a doubt one of our best biking Beach Clubs, you’ll find a fantastic variety of uncrowded trails among the Taygetus mountains, suiting everyone from novices to expert riders.
Best for water skiing and wakeboarding
Experience the buzz of surfing the waves at speed with a couple of the most addictive water sports around. While you can also enjoy water skiing and wakeboarding at our Levante, Messini and Buca Beach Clubs, there are two clear frontrunners when it comes to ideal conditions and the best kit:
- Alana Beach Club, Croatia – Bask in that warm Croatian sunshine as you plunge into the beautiful waters of the Adriatic Sea in a lovely bay.
- Vounaki Beachclub, Lefkas – This gorgeous Greek Island is a real water sports heaven, with everything you need to progress your water skiing and wakeboarding skills to the most advanced level.
You can also have a go at the exciting new water sport on the block, wakesurfing at both of these Beach Clubs.
Best for windsurfing
Harness those Mediterranean breezes for a real holiday thrill. We offer beginner and intermediate (non-planing) windsurfing at each of our Beach Clubs, but if you’re looking for something more advanced, there’s one stand-out option:
- Cosmos Beach Club, Vassiliki - Our specialist windsurfing centre for over 30 years, we couldn’t love the conditions more. Mornings are great for beginners, with gentle on-shore breezes and calm seas, while the afternoons see the arrival of ‘Eric’ – the island’s consistent thermal winds – to amp things up for the speed and freestyle windsurfers.
Best for tennis
You can have fun on the courts at any of our Beach Clubs (except for Cosmos), as well as joining daily inclusive group coaching sessions. That said, the tennis facilities are game, set and match winning at:
- Levante Beach Club, Greece – We have 6 AstroTurf tennis courts, 1 of which is a show court and 2 padel tennis courts. All are floodlit for extended play and there’s a tennis bar for refreshments. For a little extra, we have a Premium offering for those who already play tennis regularly. With just eight places in the Premium group, we recommend pre-booking to save your spot.
- Alana Beach Club, Croatia – With 6 fantastic courts and the chance to pre-book our premium tennis package, our sunny Croatian Beach Club on the dramatic Dalmatian Coast is a real hit with tennis players of all abilities.
- Buca Beach Club, Greece – Our chilled-out Beach Club shares an impressive 7 tennis courts with its neighbour, Messini Beach Club, and you can take advantage of that premium tennis package.
If you’re a keen player and fancy the chance to learn from a pro, make sure you join one of our Mark Petchey tennis weeks to learn from the ex-GB player, who also happens to be Andy Murray’s former coach.
