The time has come: your first all-inclusive family holiday. Feeling a little bit anxious or overwhelmed? Don’t fret – you’re in good hands.
It doesn’t matter what type of holiday you’re looking to book – be it a beach getaway or snowy escape – your mind’s first port of call will always be your kids. Your mind might work overtime, firing questions left, right, and centre: “What are the best holidays for kids?” “Will they have fun?” “Will they be safe?”
This is where our kids’ clubs come into their own: our nannies are brilliant with little ones, so you know they’ll be really well looked after. They’ll have a ball, and you’ll get to indulge in some long-forgotten ‘me time’ – whether that’s high-octane sports or fully-horizontal relaxation.
What you can expect
The three stages of an inaugural kids’ club holiday: Nerves. Realisation. Relaxation.
Nerves: you arrive, having read every article to be read about kids’ clubs. It might be the first time leaving your kids with someone other than a friend or family member and you’re bound to feel a spot of nerves.
Realisation: it’s the third day of your holiday, you’ve seen the kids’ club nannies in action, your kids are having an amazing time, and you realise that you really can drop them off and enjoy some well-earned, long-forgotten ‘me time’.
Relaxation: the kids are having a blast, and so are you. You book in some windsurfing or skiing tuition, after which you head to the spa for some rejuvenating R&R. Pick the kids up for dinner and hear all about their day and the new skills they’ve learnt – it’s not a bad life, eh?
Three simple stages; one unforgettable holiday.
What they'll learn
Depending on the type of holiday you’ve booked, our team will not only look after your kids; they’ll also teach them some invaluable skills.
Booking a beachclub holiday? Expect our expertly-trained staff to teach the little ones how to swim, play tennis, they’ll even take them out in dinghies – and that hasn’t even begun to scratch the surface. Older kids can expect to learn how to waterski and stand up paddleboard (SUP), whilst enjoying a bit of Zumba and beach volleyball on the side.
What’s more, kids in our Hot Shots club (for ages 8 – 13) can crank up the gear and learn how to windsurf and dinghy sail with our fully-qualified Royal Yachting Association (RYA) instructors – they’ll even have the chance to obtain an RYA qualification!
Booking a ski holiday? The little monkeys can expect singing, dancing, arts, crafts and story time when they’re not having a blast with our kids’ club team in the fresh snow.
When all wrapped up in their snow gear, your little ones will be outdoors, sledging, exploring snowy woods, and building snowmen.
Our Les Menuires, Les Deux Alpes, and El Tarter resorts run a Snowbusters Club from 9am to2pm – a ski school drop-off and pick-up service – allowing you to take to the snow safe in the knowledge that the kids are doing the very same (they’ll probably finish the holiday better skiers than the rest of us).
The friends they'll make
This is the best part of kids’ clubs. The little ones can do the most amazing activities, but nothing feels better than making new friends. Our beach holiday kids’ clubs are split into the following age groups:
Starfish crèche: 4 – 23 months Sea Urchins: 2 – 3 years Sea Badgers: 4 – 5 years Surfbusters: 6 – 7 years Sharksters: 8 – 9 years Stingrays: 10 – 11 years Surf Squad: 12 – 13 years Wave Riders: 14 – 15 years TAG: 16 – 17 years
Each group’s activities will be tailored to their age and ability – you wouldn’t expect 2-year-olds to be taken out for a sailing lesson, just as you wouldn’t expect our TAG group of 16-17yr olds to be receiving story time before bed – but hey, who are we to judge?
Older groups will head out on excursions, quizzes and meals, giving them the perfect opportunity to let loose, be themselves and have a great time with new friends – away from the parents, of course!
Our ski holiday kids’ clubs are split into the following groups:
Snowangels club: 4 months - 2 years Snowman club: 2 – 4 years Snowbusters club: 5 – 12 years Evening club: 4 months – 12 years
We also offer a bespoke, private babysitting service up to 8 hours per day, 6 days per week.
Whichever group your kids find themselves in, one thing’s for certain – every day will involve them doing something different, where fun and new friends are guaranteed.
The kids' club team
Experts in their field, they can recite any Disney song in a flash, and have an uncanny ability to keep the craziest of monsters entertained. No, they’re not too good to be true: they’re our incredibly-talented kids’ club nannies.
Hand-picked and fully qualified, ask any member of our team what they’re top priority is and it will always be, ‘safety’. But they’ll quickly follow that with an assurance that a safe environment doesn’t have to be boring.
Trained to deliver the most entertaining days involving the best activities for kids, it’s what they do best, so come leave your little kids with our big kids – they’re in safe hands.
The benefits of a Neilson kids' club holiday
Two things that really surprise parents new to our kids’ club holidays are the freedom and flexibility that the clubs provide.
The flexibility comes from being able to sign your kids in and out of their clubs whenever you want, as many times as you’d like. This means that if you fancy a family bike ride just after your solo sailing lesson, you can. It also means that when you’re craving some space to relax and bask in the hot sun, you can - just drop them off and go do your thing.
As for the kids, they’ll return masters of the water, captains of their vessels, and more confident, having bonded with new friends away from us grown-ups.
So, about our kids’ clubs…they’re pretty much a win-win for the whole family.
